Not Every Great Trip Has to Be a Big Trip
I had a client recently celebrating a 75th wedding anniversary.
Seventy-five years.
Honestly…I can’t even keep track of what I had for lunch last Tuesday.
So when someone tells me they’re celebrating seventy-five years together, I’m immediately invested.
The interesting thing is this wasn’t some giant bucket-list vacation.
There wasn’t a private island.
There wasn’t a luxury world cruise.
There wasn’t a huge commission attached to it.
It was simply a trip that mattered.
We worked on hotels.
Entertainment tickets.
The little details that would help make the celebration feel special.
And it reminded me of something I think people forget.
Not every meaningful trip has to be huge.
Sometimes people get stuck thinking travel only counts if it’s extravagant.
If it’s Europe.
Or a safari.
Or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
And listen…I love helping plan those trips too.
But sometimes the most important trips are the ones tied to a moment.
An anniversary.
A birthday.
A reunion.
A graduation.
A retirement.
The destination almost becomes secondary.
What people remember is who they were with and why they were there.
That’s why I always ask a lot of questions before I recommend anything.
Because the same hotel that works for one celebration might be completely wrong for another.
The same destination that feels exciting for one family might feel exhausting for someone else.
This is where people get tripped up when they try to plan everything online.
They start searching destinations when they should be starting with the reason they’re traveling in the first place.
The reason usually tells us more than the destination ever will.
So if you’ve got a milestone coming up…
A big anniversary.
A special birthday.
A family celebration.
Don’t automatically assume it needs to be over-the-top.
Sometimes the best trips are simply the ones that help you celebrate something worth remembering.
